Founded 1978. Officially opened in 1984. The Adventist University of Central is located in Rwanda, in Kigali City, just 4km away from the Kigali International Airport. AUCA has three campuses: (1) two in Kigli the capital - Masoro campus (Main), Gishushu campus for Science and Technology, and 92) Ngoma Nursing campus in the Western Province. AUCA is the first private university to be established in Rwanda, and it enjoys a track record reputation in quality teaching since then, locally and regionally. AUCA runs both undergraduate and masters programmes. Programmes include Nursing, Education (English Language and Literature, IT, Geography and History), Information Management, Software Engineering, Networks and Communication Systems, Theology, Finance, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Medicine. AUCA also hosts one of the prestigious medical schools, the Adventist School of Medicine of East-Central Africa (ASOME), at its Masoro campus in Kigali city. ASOME started its first cohort of medical students in March 2021.
