Created in 1929. The college was stabled as the result of a merger of Frederikshavn Marine Engineer School and Frederikshavn Maritime Academy which were the oldest maritime schools in Denmark having established in 1929 and 1948 respectively.. In 2017, MARTEC merged with the Skagen Skipper School
