Founded 1965 as a Centre offering only Middle Level Training Courses - i.e. Certificate. Upgraded 1966, started offering training at Intermediate Level - i.e. Diploma. EASTC has continued to be a regional statistical institution serving Anglophone Africa, but owned by eighteen user countries, namely: Botswana, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Seychelles, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Received National Accreditation Council for Technical Education (NACTE) 2012
